πΏ ABOUT SILENCED WITNESS
Silenced Witness: Stories of Family Violence Through a Childβs Heart
Silenced Witness shares lived experience perspectives of family violence through a childβs lens β highlighting how children are often silent witnesses to what occurs within the home, carrying experiences that are deeply felt even when not spoken.
This exhibition brings forward these perspectives with care and respect, honouring the emotional reality of lived experience while creating space for reflection, awareness, and understanding.
πΏ ABOUT WOMEN & CULTURE DIGITAL STORY PROJECT
The Women & Culture Digital Story Project is a multimedia storytelling series exploring how culture β as defined by each individual woman β has shaped identity, lived experience, and pathways of recovery.
Rather than defining culture as fixed, this project recognises it as lived, personal, and evolving. Each story reflects how cultural connection, disconnection, tradition, identity, and lived experience intersect in journeys of healing and growth.
Through digital storytelling, participants share reflections that highlight resilience, empowerment, and the diverse ways meaning is created and reclaimed through lived experience.
π€ TOGETHER IN DIALOGUE
Presented side by side, these two works create a layered narrative of lived experience:
Silenced Witness reflects childhood perspective and the unseen impacts of family violence
Women & Culture explores identity, culture, and recovery through adult reflection
Together, they offer a continuum of understanding β from lived experience to meaning-making, recovery, and voice.
π PURPOSE OF THE NIGHT
This evening sits at the intersection of education, empowerment, and encouragement.
Education β for those seeking greater understanding of lived experience and recovery journeys.
Empowerment β for those navigating healing, identity, and transition.
Encouragement β for those impacted directly or indirectly, including those supporting others through lived experience contexts.
UNVEILED is open to all genders and all members of the community, recognising that these experiences, stories, and systems impact everyone β and that meaningful change is created through shared understanding.
